Google Nexus 5 with KitKat available today at $349

Google has officially announced its newest flagship phone the Nexus 5. It may not be a surprise to you after the Nexus 5 showed up in a countless number of leaked images and documents. This time, the LG-manufactured Nexus 5 has finally received its proper unveiling.

The new device is the first phone to receive the latest and greatest version of Android known as KitKat 4.4. And, despite coming out at a slightly higher price than last year’s Nexus, it still takes the compensate in terms of features, components and other specs.

Now let’s do a run down the specs. On the outside, the Nexus 5 is a 4.95-inch 1,920 x 1,080 display with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, and a 1.3 megapixel shooter up front. On its insides, the Nexus 5 is equipped with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 2,300 mAh battery with wireless charging and comes with LTE connectivity right out of the box. Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11ac Wifi and NFC on board are also in the device so basically, if there’s a method of connecting to another device, the Nexus 5 has it.

The much adorned glass back of the Nexus 4 is changed to a “silky texture” back on the Nexus 5. The front is is sheathed with Gorilla Glass 3.

The Nexus 5 is now available on the Google Play Store today for $349 (16GB model) and $399 (32GB model) for countries in the United States, Canada, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Korea.
